 ConocoPhillips, Statoil Announce Shared Interest in Chukchi Sea, Gulf of Mexico. Statoil to acquire a 25 percent working interest in 50 ConocoPhillips leases acquired in the Chukchi Sea federal OCS lease sale in 2008. ConocoPhillips will be retaining operatorship and majority working interest in these leases. ConocoPhillips' initial drilling in the Chukchi Sea is presently scheduled for 2012.

 Chevron and Kyushu Electric Sign Multiple LNG Deals. Agreements Signed for Delivery of LNG From Gorgon and Wheatstone Projects and the Purchase of an Equity Interest in Wheatstone. 0.3 million tons per annum (mtpa) of LNG from the Gorgon Project, for 15 years. 1.83 percent of Chevron's equity share in the Wheatstone field licenses and a 1.37 percent interest in the Wheatstone natural gas processing facilities. 0.7 mtpa of LNG from the Wheatstone Project for up to 20 years.

 Apache acquires 51% stake and reserves throughput capacity in Canada’s Kitimat LNG project. The proposed Kitimat project, located at Bish Cove near the Port of Kitimat about 405 miles (652 kilometres) north of Vancouver, has planned capacity of about 700 MMcf of natural gas per day, or five million metric tons of LNG per year.

Approximately 7.4 million acres to be explored in Turkish Black Sea ExxonMobil and Petrobras to bring global deepwater experience to Black Sea. ExxonMobil and Petrobras will each hold a 25 percent interest in TPAO-Petrobras blocks (Sinop, Ayancik and Çarşamba sub-blocks of the AR/TPO/3922).

 Total signs an agreement to enter into a joint venture with Chesapeake and to acquire 25% of Chesapeake Barnett Shale gas portfolio. Total will then pay Chesapeake a consideration of USD 800 million in cash for acquiring these assets. Total will also be committed to pay a further maximum of USD 1.45 billion over a maximum period of 6 years. Total’s share of current production will be approximately 175 mcfd of natural gas with forecast growth increasing Total’s share of production to over 250 mcfd of natural gas in future years.

 Total-Led Consortium Acquires 49% Interest in Algeria’s Ahnet License as part of the second bid round held by the Algerian National Oil and Gas Development Agency (ALNAFT). Total holds a 47% interest and will appraise and develop the Ahnet finds with partners Partex (2%) and Sonatrach (51%). The Ahnet license contains significant reserves (approximately 500 billion cubic meters of gas) which should produce at least 4 billion cubic meters a year, as per the contract with Sonatrach.

 Shell in strategic asset swap with Hess. Shell has agreed to acquire Hess Corporation’s entire upstream portfolio in Gabon and its interest in the Clair field, which lies in British waters west of the Shetland Islands. In return, Hess would acquire Shell’s interest in a pair of Norwegian offshore fields, Valhall and Hod. This transaction is a strategic trade and no cash payment is involved.

Alexey Miller and Phung Dinh Thuc signed an Addendum to the Oil and Gas Contract on block 112 offshore Vietnam.
