 Contract awards for construction of eight FPSO hulls for offshore Brazil. the Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels that will be used in the full field development of the discoveries on blocks BM-S-11 and BM-S-9 in the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil. The total value of the eight hull EPC contracts is approximately $3.5 billion, with net costs to BG Group of approximately $911 million. Each FPSO will have a production capacity of 150 000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and approximately 212 million cubic feet of gas per day.

 Certified resources upgrade of 2.7 bboe to Tupi, Iracema and Guará fields, offshore Brazil. BG Group’s new aggregate best estimate of economically recoverable gross resources* for these fields amounts to 10.8 billion boe, representing a 34% increase to the 8.1 billion boe mid-point of the Group’s previous indicative resource range.

 BG Group sanctions Queensland Curtis LNG project. The first phase of the liquefaction plant will consist of two LNG trains with a combined capacity of 8.5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa). Over the next four years (2011-2014), BG Group plans to invest approximately US$15 billion in developing the liquefaction plant and related wells, field facilities and pipelines. First LNG exports are planned to commence from 2014, underpinned by agreements in Chile, China, Japan and Singapore for the purchase of up to 9.5 mtpa of LNG.

 New well confirms Tupi potential, Santos Basin, Brazil; BG Group today confirmed the success of a new well known as Tupi Alto (3-BRSA-821-RJS or 3-RJS-674) on block BM-S-11. The information obtained from this well and other wells already drilled, reinforces the estimate of a potential 5 to 8 billion barrels of recoverable light oil and natural gas from the Tupi pre-salt reservoirs.

 BG Group to farm-in to offshore acreage in to blocks 1, 3 and 4 offshore southern Tanzania currently owned solely by Ophir Energy plc (Ophir). On completion of the farm-in agreements BG Group will acquire 60% of Ophir’s interests in each of the offshore blocks by contributing 85% towards costs which include an initial work programme.

 BG Group announces US Appalachian Basin joint venture with EXCO. BG Group will: acquire a 50% interest in a total of 654 000 net acres in the Appalachian Basin; increase its estimated net gas resources by 2.4 trillion standard cubic feet (tcf); and pay a total consideration of $950 million, equating to an estimated unit resource cost of $0.40 per thousand cubic feet (mcf).

 BG Group (25%) and partners, Petrobras (65% and operator) and GALP (10%), have successfully completed drilling a Tupi field appraisal well (3-RJS-666) in the BM-S-11 licence area, Santos Basin pre-salt, offshore Brazil. Results of this and other wells previously drilled confirm Tupi's estimated recoverable resource to be 5 to 8 billion barrels of light oil and natural gas.

 BG Group and Tokyo Gas sign Heads of Agreement for LNG sale from the Queensland Curtis LNG ("QCLNG") facility. To conclude terms for: the purchase by Tokyo Gas of 1.2 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of LNG for 20 years from 2015, to be supplied from the QCLNG facility and from BG Group's global LNG portfolio; the acquisition by Tokyo Gas of a 1.25% interest in the reserves and resources of certain QGC tenements in the Walloons Fairway of the Surat Basin in Queensland; and the purchase by Tokyo Gas of a 2.5% equity interest in QCLNG Train 2
