 Hess Completes Acquisition of of 167,000 net acres in the Bakken oil shale play in North Dakota from TRZ Energy, LLC for $1,050 million in cash. The acquired properties are located near Hess' existing acreage and have current net production of approximately 4,400 boe/d.

 Purchase from Devon Energy of an additional interest in the BP-operated Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) oilfield development in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea. The additional interest acquired from Devon will increase BP’s operating interest in the ACG development to 37.43 per cent and those of Chevron, Inpex and Itochu to 11.27 per cent, 10.96 per cent and 4.30 per cent respectively, with the remaining interests held by AzACG (a subsidiary of SOCAR, the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic – 10 per cent), Statoil (8.56 per cent), Exxon (8.00 per cent), TPAO (6.75 per cent) and Hess (2.72 per cent).

 Hess to Acquire Further Interests in Valhall and Hod Fields. Hess Corporation announced it has exercised its right to pre-empt Total's sale to BP of its interests in a pair of Norwegian North Sea offshore fields, Valhall and Hod. Hess will gain additional interests of 7.85 percent in Valhall and 12.5 percent in Hod for $496 million in cash.

 Toreador and Hess Announce Paris Basin Shale Oil Partnership. Under the terms of the agreement, Hess will make a $15 million upfront payment and invest up to $120 million in fulfillment of a two phase work program. Phase 1 will consist of an evaluation of the acreage and drilling six wells, with the first well planned for later this year.

 AIOC Gives Chirag Oil Project Go Ahead. The $6 billion development plan is the next major step in the ongoing development of the ACG field in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian Sea. The COP development will allow recovery of an additional 360 million barrels of oil in total.

 Shell in strategic asset swap with Hess. Shell has agreed to acquire Hess Corporation’s entire upstream portfolio in Gabon and its interest in the Clair field, which lies in British waters west of the Shetland Islands. In return, Hess would acquire Shell’s interest in a pair of Norwegian offshore fields, Valhall and Hod. This transaction is a strategic trade and no cash payment is involved.

 Successful test of its discovery well A1-54/01 offshore Libya in the Mediterranean Sea. Well A1-54/01 was originally drilled in the Arous Al-Bahar prospect in 2008 and encountered hydrocarbons in several intervals with a combined gross section of approximately 500 feet.

 Repsol and its partners BHP Billiton and Hess Corporation made two new finds in the Shenzi field in the Gulf of Mexico. The finds in the G-104 and Shenzi-8 wells confirm the high potential of the Shenzi field, where output is already above expectations. The platform already installed at Shenzi is producing in excess of 120,000 barrels of oil per day, 20% more expectations.
