 Production facilities tender for offshore Brazil. Tender process for the charter of two further Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels to be used in the full field development of the discoveries on blocks BM-S-9 and BM-S-11 in the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil.

 Contract awards for construction of eight FPSO hulls for offshore Brazil. the Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessels that will be used in the full field development of the discoveries on blocks BM-S-11 and BM-S-9 in the Santos Basin, offshore Brazil. The total value of the eight hull EPC contracts is approximately $3.5 billion, with net costs to BG Group of approximately $911 million. Each FPSO will have a production capacity of 150 000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and approximately 212 million cubic feet of gas per day.

 Certified resources upgrade of 2.7 bboe to Tupi, Iracema and Guará fields, offshore Brazil. BG Group’s new aggregate best estimate of economically recoverable gross resources* for these fields amounts to 10.8 billion boe, representing a 34% increase to the 8.1 billion boe mid-point of the Group’s previous indicative resource range.

 BP announced that it has reached agreement to sell its recently-acquired interests in four mature producing deepwater oil and gas fields in the US Gulf of Mexico to Marubeni Oil and Gas for $650 million. BP acquired the interests in the fields - Magnolia, Merganser, Nansen and Zia - from Devon Energy earlier in 2010 as part of a wider acquisition of assets in the Gulf of Mexico, Brazil and Azerbaijan.

 Shell launches phase II of the prolific Parque das Conchas (BC-10) project more than 100 kilometres (62 miles) off the coast of Brazil. This significant investment develops the fourth field in the BC-10 block and continues a successful wave of production growth in Shell’s Upstream Americas business. The full project delivers an energy resource of approximately 300 million barrels of oil equivalent, with facilities production capacity of some 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

 Shell and Cosan sign joint venture (A US$12-billion joint venture). The proposed joint venture, which still requires regulatory approval, will produce and commercialise ethanol and power from sugar cane and distribute a variety of industrial and transportation fuels through a combined distribution and retail network in Brazil. It will also explore business opportunities to produce and sell ethanol and sugar globally. The inclusion of Shell’s equity interests in Iogen Energy and Codexis would enable the joint venture to deploy next generation biofuels technologies in the future.

 RasGas supplies first Qatari LNG to Brazil. The LNG cargo was loaded on to the Express, Petrobras' short-term chartered LNG vessel, at Ras Laffan Port in northern Qatar, and is bound for either Pecem LNG Terminal in the north-eastern state of Ceara or Guanabara Bay LNG Terminal in Rio de Janeiro.

 New well confirms Tupi potential, Santos Basin, Brazil; BG Group today confirmed the success of a new well known as Tupi Alto (3-BRSA-821-RJS or 3-RJS-674) on block BM-S-11. The information obtained from this well and other wells already drilled, reinforces the estimate of a potential 5 to 8 billion barrels of recoverable light oil and natural gas from the Tupi pre-salt reservoirs.

 Petrobras, through its subsidiary Petrobras Gas S.A. (“Gaspetro‘), has agreed to acquire Eni’s 100% participation interest in Gas Brasiliano Distribuidora S.A. (“GBD‘), a company that markets and distributes natural gas in Brazil, for a total consideration of around US$ 250 million, subject to adjustments based on net debt and working capital at closing.
