 Chevron Deepwater Gas Project in Indonesia Enters Design Phase. Major front-end engineering and design contracts awarded for for the Gendalo-Gehem natural gas development in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. Gas from the project will be used both domestically and also converted to liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the Bontang LNG facility in Indonesia for export. Maximum daily production from the project is expected to be 1.1 billion cubic feet of natural gas and 31,000 barrels of condensate.

 Eni has successfully appraised the Jangkrik gas discovery in offshore Indonesia, in the Muara Bakau PSC, Kutei Basin, East Kalimantan. During the Jangkrik 2 production test, the well produced high quality gas at a tubing constrained rate of 17.5 MMscfd. Eni, through its Indonesian subsidiary, is the operator of Muara Bakau PSC with a 55% interest, with GDF Suez holding the remaining 45% interest in the project.

 VICO - owned jointly by BP and ENI - has signed a production sharing contract (PSC) with the Government of Indonesia for the exploration and development of coalbed methane (CBM) resources on the Sanga-Sanga block in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. Indonesia has extensive coal reserves which have been estimated to hold up to 450 trillion cubic feet of coalbed methane.

 Construction Start of Naoetsu LNG Receiving Terminal in Niigata, Japan. "we will introduce LNG sourced natural gas from Shizuoka Gas Company from January 2010 and import LNG at our own Naoetsu LNG Receiving Terminal from 2014. We are considering a preferable option to import LNG produced from our overseas operator projects of Ichthys (Australia) and Abadi (Indonesia)."

 First cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) lifted from the BP led Tangguh LNG project in Papua Barat, Indonesia. The first cargo, on board the Tangguh Foja, is bound for POSCO’s LNG regasification terminal in Gwangyang in South Korea. Tangguh comprises the development of six gas fields in the Wiriagar, Berau and Muturi production sharing contracts in the Bintuni area.

 BP to sell West Java interests to Pertamina. BPWJ holds a 46 per cent interest in and is the operator of the Offshore North West Java production sharing contract (ONWJ PSC) in Indonesia. Pertamina will purchase 100 per cent of BPWJ from BP for a consideration of US$280 million, subject to final adjustments prior to closing. ONWJ's current average gross production is approximately 220 million cubic feet of gas and 22,000 barrels of oil per day.
