 Rumaila Exceeds 10% Improved Production Target. he Rumaila Operating Organisation (ROO) has met a major milestone in the re-development of the super-giant field in Southern Iraq by increasing production by more than 10 per cent above the 1.066 million barrels a day (b/d) initial production rate agreed in December 2009.

 Eni achieves key production milestone in the Zubair field, in Iraq. The Zubair field production rate has increased from approximately 183,000 barrels of oil per day, the initial production rate on the TSC effective date of 18 February 2010, to a sustained rate of appreciably over 201,000 barrels of oil per day (the minimum required production rate to trigger cost recovery)

 Halliburton has been awarded a letter of intent by Shell Iraq Petroleum Development B.V. for the development of the Majnoon field in Southern Iraq. Shell is lead operator and holds a 45 percent share, partner Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) holds 30 percent and the Iraqi state holds 25 percent of the participating interests in all licenses. Shell has announced that the consortium intends to increase production from the current ~45,000 barrels of oil per day to a targeted production plateau of 1.8 million barrels of oil per day.

 First Major Contracts Awarded for Rumaila Rehabilitation. Three contractor groups were selected for drilling wells, worth around $500 million in total and will provide 7 additional drilling rigs from the second half of 2010. The contracts will be awarded to: Schlumberger in partnership with the Iraqi Drilling Company has been awarded contracts for three rigs, Daqing Drilling has also been awarded contracts for three rigs, Weatherford has been awarded a contract for one rig.

 LUKOIL President, signed a development and production agreement at the Iraqi West Qurna-2 field in Baghdad today. The winning bids of LUKOIL and Statoil were: a remuneration fee of USD 1.15 per barrel of oil at the production level of 1.8 million barrels per day. The target production level of over 90 million tons of oil per year is expected to be reached in 2017. LUKOIL’s investments in the West Qurna-2 field are expected to come to about USD 300 million in 2010 and to USD 4.5 billion during the next four to five years.

 CNPC and partners (Total, Petronas and Iraq's South Oil Company) sign development and production contract on Iraq's Halfaya Oilfield. Recoverable reserve of approximately 4.1 billion barrels and its current production is 3,100 barrels per day. The joint operatorship led by PetroChina will boost the production of Halfaya to 535,000 barrels per day.

 ExxonMobil Signs Agreement with Iraq to Redevelop and Expand West Qurna-1 Field. ExxonMobil as the lead contractor with 60 percent interest, Oil Exploration Company (owned by the Iraq government) with 25 percent interest, and Royal Dutch Shell with 15 percent interest.
