 RasGas makes landmark entry into Portugal. The spot sale cargo was delivered today to an affiliate of Galp Energia SPGS, S.A., at the Sines LNG Terminal in Portugal, from the LNG tanker Al Deebel.

 RasGas supplies first Qatari LNG to Brazil. The LNG cargo was loaded on to the Express, Petrobras' short-term chartered LNG vessel, at Ras Laffan Port in northern Qatar, and is bound for either Pecem LNG Terminal in the north-eastern state of Ceara or Guanabara Bay LNG Terminal in Rio de Janeiro.

 Qatar Petroleum, Shell and Petrochina sign new Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement for Qatar Block D. The total term of this agreement is 30 years and starts with a five year First Exploration Period (exploration technical studies, 2D and 3D seismic acquisition, processing, re-processing and interpretation, and drilling a number of exploration wells to the pre-Khuff formation). Shell, as operator, will hold a 75 per cent equity share with PetroChina holding a 25 per cent share.

 Gazprom delegation visits Qatar. The Qatari party proposed Gazprom to participate in the natural gas production and liquefaction project in Qatar after 2014 when the moratorium on expanding gas production in the North field might be lifted. Gazprom agreed with the Qatari party’s opinion that current prices for gas were much lower than those for the equivalent volume of oil, as well as that the gas price would further approach the oil price (in terms of the energy equivalent).

 On working meeting with Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister of the State of Qatar. The meeting participants discussed the promising areas of interaction between Gazprom and Qatar Petroleum in the oil and gas sector. The parties appreciated the high potential of cooperation in LNG transactions and LNG/pipeline gas swap deals on the European and Asia-Pacific markets. The Qatari party expressed interest in the projects for the Yamal Peninsula comprehensive development and, in particular, in the Yamal-LNG project.

 Ras Laffan 3 LNG Train 7 Begins Production. Ras Laffan 3 Train 7 is the fourth 7.8 million tons per year LNG plant brought online by Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil joint ventures within the past 12 months. It matches the capacity of Ras Laffan 3 Train 6, one of the largest operating LNG production facilities in the world, inaugurated in October 2009.

 Shell reconfirmed good progress of the Pearl GTL and the Qatargas 4 projects for a group of its shareholders and investment analysts. Pearl GTL is designed to produce 120,000 barrels per day (b/d) of natural gas liquids (NGLs) and ethane, and 140,000 b/d of GTL products. Qatargas 4 will have a capacity of 7.8 mtpa of LNG and some 70,000 boe/d of NGLs.

 Additional LNG supplies to PetroChina (2 mta). The new volumes agreed under the MOU will increase the total volumes of the long-term LNG deliveries from Qatargas to PetroChina to five million tonnes per annum. The initial supply of three million tonnes of LNG is expected to commence with the start-up of Train 7, under the Qatargas 4 Company.

 HH the Emir to inaugurate RasGas Train 6 next week. new generation of 'mega-trains', capable of producing 7.8 million tonnes of LNG per annum (Mta). The inauguration next week will mark a defining moment in Qatar's development as a gas producing and exporting nation, as well as boosting the company's overall LNG production to approximately 28.5 Mta.
