 On working meeting between Alexey Miller and Yury Boiko, Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Minister. The meeting also addressed the strategic partnership development between the companies, with a new round of negotiations initiated on setting up a joint venture by Gazprom and NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy.

 On working meeting between Alexey Miller and Yury Boiko. The parties discussed the issues related to the Russian Prime Minister’s proposal to merge Gazprom and NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy. On April 30 Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation made a proposal to the Ukrainian party in Sochi that Gazprom and NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy should merge.

 Gazprom and EDF sign Memorandum detailing joint participation in South Stream project. The document specifies that the details of EDF’s participation in the project will be worked out jointly with ENI, which currently owns 50 per cent of South Stream AG, the operator of the offshore section of South Stream. The Memorandum states that EDF’s entering the South Stream will foresee the conclusion of new long-term gas sales contracts.

This project plans to produce 15 million tonnes of LNG per annum supplied from the gas fields including Gorgon and Jansz/Io located offshore Western Australia. Acquisition of 1% interests in the Gorgon LNG project including the titles of gas fields, and rights in the developments of the gas fields, gas liquefaction facilities and marketing through Tokyo Gas Gorgon Pty Ltd; corresponding percentage of the project costs.
